Kuffour Has No Basis To Reach Such Conclusion - Nyantakyi Hits Back At Ex-Ghana Star

Ghana FA boss, Kwesi Nyantekyi has responded to a comment made by ex-Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kuffour claiming the CAF executive committee member should vacate his position as the President of the Ghana Football Association.

Kwesi Nyantekyi has been under immense pressure by the football public after Ghanas abysmal display at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil which has led to many questioning his competence level as the President of the football association.

Kuffour, a member of the FA juvenile committee weeks ago in an interview with Accra-based TV3 hinted that is time for the astute Football Administrator to relinquish from the post as head of the nations football governing body.

But Nyantekyi who is currently serving his tenth year in office as FA president has reacted to the comment made by the former Ghana Star claiming the former Bayern Munich defender has not got enough basis to come to conclusion.

Thats his opinion; there may be other people who share that opinion. There are many other people too who dont share that opinion, Nyantekyi told the media at a press conference on Friday.

But every opinion expressed must be based on facts, or it must be grounded on a basis. And I do not think he has a good enough basis to reach that conclusion.

The fact that the Black Stars didnt do well at the World Cup is not an enough basis to call on the FA president to reign.

If the President did not do his work then that could be a reasonable basis, but I do not think that is the way out.

And I do not also think that there is enough basis for him to come to that conclusion. I think he was a bit hasty and he should take his time to analyze the situation and appreciate what really transpired in Brazil.

The Wa All Stars owner who has been tipped as the next CAF President has managed to qualify the Black Stars to three successive World Cups since he assumed office in 2004, with the Ghana U-20 male team [Black Satellites] and the Ghana U-17 female team [Black Maidens] winning Gold and Bronze at the 2009 World Youth Championships and 2012 Womens U-17 World Cup respectively.
