Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has ruled himself out of Ghana’s upcoming friendly match against Canada despite disclosing his return to light training.
The Black Stars captain is still recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained while playing for his Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in September.
Gyan, following further examinations on his injury, was told he will be out for an estimated three weeks.
The 29-year-old is now only resuming light training towards making a full recovery.
He however revealed through his official website AsamoahGyan3.com that he will not be fit enough to join the Black Stars for the international friendly match against Canada on October 13 in Washington.
The former Al Ain ace is now weeks away from making a full recovery.
Coaches and officials at Shanghai SIPG hope the Ghanaian makes a quick recovery to help them in their push to win the Chinese Super League with three games to the end of the season.
