Ghana international Michael Essien has shaked off an injury that has kept him out of football action for weeks to return to training for Greek club Panathinaikos this week.
The former Chelsea player transferred to the Greek club in the summer transfer window but has been kept out for most of Panathinaikos’ games due to struggle to full fitness.
Essien however returned to training this week although the Ghanaian trained away from the Panathinaikos first team under the supervision of the club’s fitness coach as he works his way back to full fitness.
The game between Panathinaikos and PAOK on Sunday may come too soon for former Real Madrid player Essien who hasn’t had much football playing time in weeks.
