Owner of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV, has called on detractors of the club, to rather troop in their numbers to invest in the club by buying more SAS shares, instead of putting impediments in the way of the 19-time Ghanaian champions.

“Shouting themselves croaky and hoarse in the name of criticism would not help anybody.  Methinks, they can rather channel that energy into something profitable by investing in the future of the club.”

“Let them come out and buy shares in the club to strengthen its financial base and galvanize it to put up a dazzling performance in the coming season,” he said.

According to the Hearts’ biggest shareholder, those who claimed to love the club should rather be seen pumping money into it “and not pour cold water on the efforts of those who are fighting hard to produce the best for the club.”

Togbe Afede, who is the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of Asogli Traditional Area in the Volta Region, told the Times Sports yesterday that management of the club had put in place all-encompassing strategy to ensure that Hearts bounces back in the new season.

“Like any human being, I’m open to criticism – but that disapproval should be done constructively, one that would inure to the supreme benefit of the club,” he stressed.

Togbe Afede became the board chairman of Hearts after purchasing majority of the club’s shares which were floated in 2010.

At the club’s 2015 Annual General Meeting, it was disclosed that Hearts recorded a total loss of GH¢2,872,516 in the year ending 2015, while revenue of the club increased from GH¢262,102 during the 2013/2014 period to GH¢1,073,894.
