Asamoah Gyan will arrive in his native country today (Friday) ahead of Ghana's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda next week.
The 30-year-old has peaked at the right time after he grabbed a sensational brace for Al Ahli in their 3-2 win over Al Shabab in the UAE League Cup on Thursday.
Gyan, on loan from Shanghai SIPG, has netted four goals so far despite not operating at full fitness level.
The Black Stars captain is expected to provide inspiration for his country ahead of their qualifier against the Cranes at the Tamale stadium.
The Ghanaians will be seeking a perfect tonic in the race to qualify to the global showpiece in Russia with seven-time African champions Egypt to contend with in their group.
Gyan is Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 48 goals in over 90 appearances.
