Gruzah Calls For CJ’s Intervention - To Settle Dispute With GFA, Aduana

Kumasi-based King Faisal boss, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, has called on the Chief Justice to settle the protracted dispute between his club on one side, and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Aduana Stars, on the other, and ensure his club’s reinstatement in the Premiership.

Gruzah dragged the GFA to court for failing to deduct points from Aduana Stars for not paying a fine within the stipulated period as prescribed by GFA Statutes.

Nonetheless, since 2014 when the case was first sent to court, judgement is yet to be pronounced, prompting the veteran administrator and critic to demand an immediate intervention from the Chief Justice to bring a lasting solution to the impasse.

The undue delay seems to have had a negative impact on his finances and, according to Gruzah, the club is almost bankrupt after being confined to the second tier league for more than two seasons.

"This case has drained me financially and morally and I want to appeal to the Chief Justice to step in to ensure that justice is dispensed swiftly", Gruzah told the Graphic Sports in an interview last Wednesday.

He lamented over the lackadaisical attitude of the lawyer of Aduana Stars, J.K. Yeboah, whom he blamed for contributing to the unnecessary delay in the ruling of the case because he is almost always absent in court or seeking for an adjournment.

Gruzah accordingly petitioned the Chief Justice to ensure an immediate resolution of the impasse.

"This is a football case and should not be made to prolong till this time because we are losing a lot of money. We think the longer the case is delayed the more we feel we have been denied justice," Gruzah noted.
