T.P Mazembe midfielder Solomon Asante has been crowned Player of the Year by the Sports Writers' Association of Ghana (SWAG), shrugging off competitions from West Ham United star Andre Ayew and Daniel Amartey of Leicester City.
The 27-year-old won treble in the year under review after he helped the Congolese giants to annex the Caf Confederation Cup, African Super Cup as well as DR Congo Premier League.
Wa All Stars and Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori was named the Ghana Premier League Player of the Season.
Ofori, 26, who guided the Northern Blues to lift their first league trophy last season and kept 15 clean sheets in 27 league matches, was picked over Medeama midfielder Kwesi Donsu and last season's goal king Latif Blessing.
Also, Ampem Darkoa Ladies striker Priscilla Adubea won female footballer of the year ahead of Elizabeth Addo and Sandra Owusu-Ansah.
Adubea emerged as the National Women’s League topscorer after netting 19 times as her side won the league trophy for the first time.
Boxing referee Roger Barnor pipped Fifa referee Awal Mohammed to the best referee award while, Wa All Stars and Ampem Darkoa Ladies won the Male and Female clubs of the season respectively.
Former Ghana international and Great Olympics coach, Godwin Attram, was honoured with dedication and parlour for his efforts to guide the Wonder Club back to the top-flight after they suffered relegation in 2015.
Fifa match coordinator Anthony Baffoe was named the sports personality of the year.
