The Ghana Football Association at its 2017 summit at Cape Coast has resolved to restructure the Premier League Board and employ experts to form the body.
The PLB is the body responsible for the organisation and management of the Ghana Premier League but will see massive changes to make way for non-football experts to be engaged by the football federation to see to the running of the Premier League and the other competitions.
Speaking at the press conference at the end of the summit, the Ghana Football Association President announced that the session has resolved to restructure the various competitions of association with the Premier League seeing the biggest change.
"At the end of the summit, the GFA has resolved to restructure all our competitions including the Ghana Premier League with the Premier League Board being properly constituted into a board.
"They wouldn't have to meet daily or weekly but will be meeting periodically, maybe monthly or quarterly," Kwesi Nyantakyi said.
"But we are going to employ experts to fill certain functional positions. We are going to have a General Manager and three directors. One of the directors will be responsible for the media, another for marketing and another for competitions," he added.
Kwesi Nyantakyi explained further that the experts will be employed on full time basis and they will manage the Premier League.
"These will be full time staff whose roles will be to carry out specific duties relating to their function. They will manage the league on daily basis and the FA Cup competition."
The summit, the first of its kind under the 1st CAF Vice President is expected to spell the turning point of Ghana football.
