Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has left South Africa to his native country to complete the necessary documentation needed to Coach the national team.
The Belgium coach masterminded a win against the Black Stars in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on Monday at the FnB Stadium as South Africa go top of Group G with four points.
The 2017 AFCON winning coach had to leave the country to complete the necessary documentations as the provisional one given him by SAFA had expired.
According to the laws in the country, he is ineligible to stay and prepare the team for next month's qualifiers against Ethiopia.
“Work permit issues have forced the 69-year-old to return to his native country of Belgium to complete all the necessary documents needed for him to honour his five-year contract,” stated SAFA CEO Tebogo Motlanthe confirmed to the media.
He added: “It’s not even ideal for us because we would have wanted him to be in the country preparing for the next qualifiers, but unfortunately the laws of the country say otherwise,”
