Government has declared Tamale, Gushiegu, Yendi, Milon, Zabzugu, Tatale, Savelugu/Nanton Sabola as disaster areas this was after severe rainstorm hit the areas some few weeks ago destroying properties worth millions of cedis and displacing several hundreds of residents.
