Contrary to pre-elections concerns that the Northern Region would be one of the hotspots during the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections, the polls ended peacefully without any incident. Monitoring done by Graphic Online across 31 constituencies in the Northern Region during the voting process indicated that the polls went on smoothly with no any major incidents.
