FONKAR In Northern Regions Hits Back At 'Dissolution' Alarm

Our attention has been drawn to lies being peddled by Ransford Vanni Amoah and his cohorts of a so-called meeting held at the Central Regional town of Biriwa, where we friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) resolved with immediate effect to dissolve the group in the supreme interest of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of the December elections. We are stating categorically that no such meeting has taken place with any of the three Northern Regions Executives of FONKAR and we are appealing to the numerous members and supporters of the former First Lady to treat it with contempt. FONKAR still exists and is even growing daily in numbers. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is the life patron by virtue of our use of her name in our activities and the final authority in terms of whether or not the group continues to operate or not. In fact we find it ridiculous and nonsensical that a number of ingrates and shallow minded personalities led by Vanni Amoah are questioning our fundamental human right to refer to ourselves as Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. It is only an illiterate mind that would want to seek to 'disband' that friendship. If they have unashamedly chosen to be betrayers of the cause they should not attempt to stifle our fundamental right to choice of friends. We in the three northern regions are appalled by the attempt by a few individuals to drag our patrons name into disrepute by erroneously announcing the dissolution of FONKAR when indeed; they have no such authority what so ever.
