Ghanaian Striker Jeffery Schlupp Scores In Leicester City Victory

Ghanaian striker Jeffery Schlupp scored for Leicester City on Tuesday night to wreck Birminghams bid to climb back into the English Championship play-offs. The late substitute struck late to help the Foxes to win the game 3-1 at the King Power Stadium confirming Leicesters reputation as Midlands derby kings. Substitute Schlupp coolly converted in the 80th minute after latching on to Tom Kennedys throughball before Jermaine Beckford grabbed his second of the night with the last kick of the game to leave the Foxes within six points of the top six. Teenage sub Schlupp, 19, burst clear to slot home with 10 minutes left as he continues to establish himself at the club. With the score level at 1-1, Schlupp came on to make it 2-1, scoring by sliding the ball under Boaz Myhill from the edge of the area, after a great ball over the top from defender Kennedy. The Foxes have become the neighbours from hell, plundering 16 points from seven clashes with local rivals Brum, Derby, Nottingham Forest and Coventry this term. Schlupp was considered for the Black Stars late last year when he was handed a call-up for the friendly against Gabon in France. He has since not been considered for the Black Stars but if he continues to score he could be recalled to the fold. Schlupp is also eligible to play for Ghanas U20 side the Black Satellites as he is 19.
