Assembly, Rlg Establish ICT Centre

The Nkwanta South District Assembly in collaboration with RLG Communications, an indigenous mobile phone manufacturing company in Ghana has established an information communication technology (ICT) centre in the district. The centre is to facilitate the training of ICT skills to interested individuals to make them more suitable for the job market which now strives on ICT. It would also provide opportunity for students to access wide range of information on the internet to boost their knowledge acquisition in various skills of study. As a good cost sharing skills, the district assembly constructed the structure while the RLG communication provided 20 computers and mobile phone repair machine. Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, George Rabbak the RLG representative who manages the centre disclosed that about 200 people would be trained this year under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in computer soft and hardware, mobile phone repairs, electronics and managerial skills. According to him, training is already ongoing for some small number since the mobile phone repair machine to help train a large number of the people is yet to arrive.
