NGO Gives Free Health Screening To Three Communities In C/R

The Cheerful Health Foundation, Ghana, a non governmental organisation, in collaboration with Anidsaso Health Foundation, their partners in Chicago, U.S.A, has organized separate free health screening for people in three communities in the Central Region. The communities are Gomoa Nyanyano, Akufu Kurudua and Senya Beraku. Over 150 people aged between 14 and 80 years were screened of diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Pneumonia, Eye problems, stomach, gastritis, atheistic and bilharzia. They were later given medication while people with diseases beyond their capacity were referred to the Kasoa Health Centre for treatment. Mr Eric Opoku Agyeman, Chief Executive of Cheerful Health Foundation, disclosed that the programme was to sensitize the people on the need to check their health status periodical. He said about two months ago, they donated assorted medical equipments, tools and medicine to the Kasoa Health Centre valued at 250,000 Dollars as their contribution toward the health delivery in the area. Dr. Ted Thachhenkary, President of Anidaso Foundation, who led a six member medical team, made up of three doctors and three volunteers to the country, urged the people to change their eating and drinking habits. He advised the people to visit accredited health facilities when sick and also take the full dose of medicine given them to avoid further complications.
