Kwesi Appiah To Solve Tricky Left-back Position In Black Stars

Ghana boss Kwesi Appiah says hes determined to solve the problematic left-back position in the Black Stars. The African giant have struggled to find a permanent left-full back since Habib Mohammed faded after the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany. Previous coaches have experimented with the likes of Nana Kwesi Asare, David Addy, Lee Addy, Harrison Afful and Samuel Inkoom in the past while Italy-based teenager Massawudu Alhassan was given a shot at the position when he played at the 2012 African Cup of Nations. Standard Lieges Daniel Opare has also been deployed as a make-shift player for the position in the past. With Ghana anxious to win next years African Cup of Nations in South Africa, the 51-year-old says hes gritty to solve the age-long problem in the team. I have been with the team for long and I know the left-back position has always been an issue which I intend to address quickly, Appiah said I have gone round the League centres and have seen some really good players. We have to take a look at them again and see how it goes. It doesnt matter whether youre home or abroad, I believe we can solve the problem in that position. Because there are many good players in the system, Asante Kotokos Baba Abdul Rahman who is a target of English giant Arsenal is hugely tipped to make a mark at the position.
