The body of Gideon Kwarteng Yeboah, a 24-year-old National Serviceman who drowned in the Tano River on Tuesday has been found. Mr. Yeboah has been involved in the Biometric Registration exercise in the Mepeasem Area and was also teaching at Kwabre near Elubo in the Jomoro District. The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police, John Fugerson Dzineku, confirmed the accident to Citifmonline.com, where he said a passenger outboard motor boat on which Mr. Yeboah and some others were traveling capsized. They were heading to the District Electoral Office at Half Assini to submit their returns of the registration on the third phase of the exercise when the accident occurred. Superintendent Dzineku said the boat loaded with passengers and foodstuff hit a rock in the river and split into two, forcing some to swim to safety, but Yeboah was unable to do so. Several of the registration materials are missing. The area can only be reached by boat on the River Tano. A search party was organised by the people in the area to look for the body of Mr Yeboah who hails from Babiani in the Western Region.
