FGJ Vows To Pursue Case Against Judges Despite Reprieve For 4 Lawyers

The leader of the Forum for Governance and Justice, Dr. Clement Apaak, says the Forum will continue to pursue the legal suit filed against the Association of Magistrates and Judges despite the Association dropping its petition against the four lawyers who were blacklisted for alleging corruption against the Judiciary. Dr. Raymond Atuguba, Chris Ackumey, David Annan and the late Larry Bimi were blacklisted and dragged to the Legal Council by the Association to substantiate their claims or face the consequences. The Judges and Magistrates also vowed not to adjudicate cases involving the four lawyers. Dr. Apak who describes the latest development as a welcome news told XYZ News that the Forum will still go ahead to pursue their case at the law courts to protect other lawyers in future. It is heartwarming that they have decided to do the right thing but that is not going to be the end so it is the first step but it is not the conclusion of this matter yet, Dr. Apaak said. He added that the forum has decided to pursue the case to prevent the magistrates and the judges from meting out such an action any other lawyer.
