DCE Sure Of Prez. Mills Victory

The District Chief Executive for the Lawra District Assembly, Abu Samson has realized that, the NDC government will obtain majority votes in the December polls in the district. He explained that in view of the massive projects initiated in the district, it has endeared the electorates to the Atta Mills led administration, indicating that this will be an absolute ground for the people to repose the confidence in his party in the elections. He added that even though the area was cut-off with regards to infrastructure development during the erstwhile NPP administration, the district is now rated as one of the fastest growing districts in the Upper West region, courtesy the good work of the incumbent government. The DCE made the remarks in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com during the 2nd Consultation Workshop on Draft Public Procurement Policy on Timber and Timber products for the domestic market. However the area registered a total of 25,173 eligible voters in the just ended Biometric Registration exercise, thus representing a marginal decrease of the previous register for the area. Although the current number of registered voters was in short of the number that existed in the previous register, the DCE was relatively appreciative of the turn out in general. He therefore noted that the inconsistency in the registered number was as a result of the people leaving the district for school, work and other activities.
