NPP Will Fall In Greater Accra

In spite of the internal wrangling in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs. Gifty Emefa Sika Nartey is beaming with confidence of whipping the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the polls, saying the ruling party would annex more seats in Greater Accra and also win the Presidential elections convincingly in the December polls. She indicated that the sterling performance of the Mills government was enough to retain the party come January 2013. Mrs. Nartey asserted that the party was poised to claim the region as its bonafide property after the elections. Describing the region as the biggest cosmopolitan swing region, Mrs. Gifty Emefa Sika Nartey predicted that 19 seats in the region would fall to the NDC. We would sweep not less than 19 out of the 27 parliament seats in the Greater Accra Region in the December polls she maintained. This government has done so well, even our friends in opposition talk about it privately, but because of politics, they pretend not to see she stated. The Regional Vice Chairperson was elated that, under the President Mills administration, developmental project are so widespread that aspiring NDC parliamentarians in the region can sweep all seats in the region. As far as Greater Accra is concerned, NPP should forget about increasing their parliamentary seats. From the work that we have done and the vigorous campaign strategy we have, there is no way the NPP can stand in our way, we will maintain all current seats and further take five more orphan seats from them, she stressed. According to her, the massive infrastructural developments in the constituencies in the Greater Accra Region speak volumes about the expected outcome of the impending elections. Take a place like Adenta, where water used to be a problem but thank God under NDC water flows at least twice a week, we have boreholes to support us. The Roads at Teshie Nungua and Dansoman are there for everybody to see, as well as other places where all the roads have been completed or nearing completion. She cautioned NDC members against complacency and urged them rather to support the party for a massive victory in Election 2012. The Vice Chairperson entreated all contestants and the followers of the entire umbrella family to rally behind the elected aspirants for a united front in December. She said from the way the opposition is behaving it was obvious they have no issues to campaign on and capitalizing on the Alfred Woyomes judgment scandal and other irrelevant issues but that would never hold. Mrs. Nartey urged the candidates to campaign and focus on issues, especially the good developmental works of the President. She asked members of the party to be united and love one another to emerge as one united front with the goal to win more seats and bring development to the door steps of the people. She pleaded with party supporters and leaders of the NDC not to resort to insults as their campaign strategy, but project the several achievements by the party since it assumed governance.
