Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards 2012 winner Sarkodie �Obidiponbidi� graced the red carpet prior to the main awards night with several Hollywood A-list celebrities and musicians from different part of the world. Sarkodie was spotted on the red carpet in a grey suit, white inner shirt, a tie and shoes to match and obviously his designer shades. Sarkodie and Nigerian sensation Wiz Kid were announced co-winners of the �Best International Act� (Africa) at the BET Awards in New York on Sunday 1, 2012 in a category that had Mokobe (Mali), Camp Mulla (Kenya), Ice Prince (Nigeria), and Lira (South Africa). This makes Sarkodie the first Ghanaian to ever win a BET Award after the music maestro Kojo Antwi and Ghanaian Rapper D-Black were nominated in previous years. Last year, two Nigerian artistes 2Face Idibia and Coco master D�Banj won the same award as co-winners. Since Sarkodie broke into the music scene, he has never looked back. With two albums; �Ma Kye� and �Rapperholic� he was won the ultimate �Artistes of the Year� twice and several other awards at Ghana Music Awards. He was also nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) and other award schemes outside Ghana. His Rapperholic concert a few months back was a sell-out both in Accra and Kumasi which left us all to come to love a line in one of his masterpiece that his fans got his back like body lotion. Currently, Sarkodie is working on a new album (TMG � The Mind Game) with Producer and Rapper Jayso. The first single (Pizza & Burger) from the collaboration is set to hit Ghanaians in July. But before heading back home with his award, he will be joined by his fans in Canada as he will be touring the country. This year�s BET Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
