Dont Interfere In National Service Posting- Vincent Kuagbenu Warns

The Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Vincent Kuagbenu has served notice to the general public that his outfit will not heed what he terms incessant pressure from officialdom to interfere in this year's service postings. According to him, his office is inundated on daily basis, by government officials and traditional authorities who attempt to interfere with the posting process of the secretariat. Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, Mr. Kuagbenu announced that such interference will no longer be tolerated. He stressed that we get constant knocks on our doors from Ministers of State, MPs, traditional rulers and Chief Executives who want people to be posted to organisations which do not have need for personnel. You cannot finish University and your parents will be holding your hand like toddlers and come to demand for postings to their organization of choice. Attributing the purported interference to the actions of erstwhile NPP government officials, Kuagbenu noted that although he took over the position which was bedeviled with such practices, he will fight the canker to its logical conclusion. He explained that between 2001 and 2008, NPP apparatchiks go to the National Service headquarters, to do posting. This is pure fact. He, however, noted that for the past three years, the secretariat has managed to drastically reduce all external influences regarding service postings, but assured that his outfit is doing its possible best to totally eradicate the practice. Mr. Kuagbenu thus cautioned the general public, government and public office holders to allow the secretariat achieve its purpose for which it was set up.
