ECG Suspends Load Shedding Due To Mills’ Funeral

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has given indications that it would suspend all load shedding exercises during the final funeral rites of late President Mills which kicks off today. The company said it has also made provisions for back-up generators at all areas that would be designated as funeral grounds. This was made know when a delegation from the company led by its Board Chairman, Mrs. Perpetual Darfoor signed the Book of Condolence at the Conference Centre in Accra. Managing Director of ECG William Hutton Mensah said in an interview that “what we’ve also done is to advice all our managers not to do any maintenance activities from now to Sunday to ensure that we don’t have any outages which have not been planned in that period.” Other institutions and organisations also paid homage to the late president including the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC).
