Berekum Chelsea-Al Ahly CAF Champions League Game Moved To Accra Sports Stadium

Berekum Chelseas crunch clash with Al Ahly will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium, according to a directive from Caf. The management of the Blues was hoping to play their next group stage home fixture at their usual home ground, the Berekum Golden City Park. However, speaking in an interview with Goal.com Ghana, the spokesperson of the club Isaac Amponsah confirmed that the continents football governing body has ordered the game to be played in the capital, Accra, due to the clubs failure to fulfill a 10-day mandate with regard to venue change. Berekum Chelsea earlier planned to shift the venue to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi because they could not meet all the requirements of Caf to host the game at their home grounds. The team played their first home game of the group stages against Zamalek in Accra. Amponsah revealed the team will be arriving in the capital on Friday ahead of the game scheduled for Sunday. He urged all supporters to make their way to the stadium to spur them on for victory. The Blues face the Red Devils in their fourth group match and will be attempting to set themselves up for a semi-final place in the competition. The Ghanaians have been boosted by the clearance of striker Bismark Idan, who returned from Turkey earlier in the year, to feature in the match.
