Bawumia Thanks Muslim Communities For Immense Support

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice-Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has thanked the Muslim and Zongo Communities greatly for the support accorded him since his nomination as Running Mate to Nana Akufo-Addo for the December 2012 General elections. Dr. Bawumia said this on the fourth leg of his Ramadan tour which has already seen him visiting various mosques and Zongo Communities in the Accra, Cape Coast and Takoradi. Speaking to worshippers at the Darul Hadith Al-suna mosque in Aboabo after partaking in the Asr prayer, Dr. Bawumia said �so far I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support shown me. Your prayers, advice and words of encouragement and support have been unimaginably helpful to me and my team. All I can do is to thank all Imams, Chiefs of Zongo Communities, and indeed all members of the Muslim and Zongo Communities across the country and even those outside the shores of Ghana. My wish and prayer is that as the days roll by, you continue to support me with even more of the prayers, advice and wise counsel�, he said. The Imam of the mosque expressed his delight at the visit of Dr. Bawumia to the Mosque. He pledged that on his part, he would constantly say prayers for Dr. Bawumia as and urged the lord to protect and guide the NPP Running Mate. Before going to Aboabo, Dr. Bawumia and his team had earlier been to Mayanka for the afternoon Zuhr prayers and also visited the Kumasi Central Mosque where prayers were shared for the unity and peace of the Nation. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam. He disclosed to the Regional chief Imam that he was in the region to fraternize with his fellow Muslims as they were all preparing to end their month long sacred fast. The Vice-Presidential candidate appealed to the Chief Imam to constantly for prayers of guidance and protection from Allah. For the Tafsir, Dr. Bawumia and his team joined worshippers at the Aboabo Station Mosque to listen to Mallam Rashadbefore breaking the fast (Iftar) at the Ciessey Mosque also in Aboabo. In rounding off events for the day, Dr. Bawumia visited the Oforikrom Mosque for the evening Isha/ Asham prayers. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was accompanied by among others, Sheik T.D. Damba, 2nd National Vice-Chairman of the NPP, Boniface Abubakar Saddique former Minister under the previous NPP administration, Mustapha Hamid, spokesperson to Nana Akufo-Addo, Mohammed Amin Anta, former MCE of the Tamale Metropolis and Abubakar Sulemana, National Nasara Coordinator.
