The Jubilee Oil Partners operating at the oil exploration field off Cape Three Points in the Western Region have constructed a guest house at the cost of GHC198,455.25 for the Western Regional House of Chiefs in Sekondi. The five-room guesthouse located at the premises of the secretariat of the house of Chiefs was started by the chiefs and completed by the Oil Partners. With the provision of the facility, chiefs who travel from far places on working visits to the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis would no longer lodge in hotels. The Jubilee Partners comprise Tullow Ghana as the lead operators, Kosmos Energy, Anadarko, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and Sabre Oil. Handing over the edifice to the chiefs, Mr Joseph Klamasu, Area Manager of Tullow Ghana said the gesture is part of their corporate social responsibility to the communities in which they operate. �The reason why the Jubilee Partners chose to associate with this project is that it aligns with our objective of ensuring that our partners in any country where we operate are adequately supported to deliver their best and to share in the benefits that inure from such collaborations�. Mr Klamasu announced that the Jubilee Partners, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology have engaged a group of consultants to prepare a comprehensive spatial plan for the six coastal districts close to the oil field to ensure that development is carried out in a planned, orderly and co-ordinated manner. The Area Manager said the partners have supported the communities in the areas of health and education, to promote their socio-economic development. In the area of health, he said with the support of the regional health service, healthcare has been made accessible to the communities in addition to the provision of free medical care. They are also constructing a skills development centre at the Takoradi polytechnic at an estimated cost of four million dollars to train the needed middle level manpower. Captain (RTD) Anthony Cudjoe, Metropolitan Chief Executive expressed gratitude to the Jubilee Partners for their financial and material contribution towards the socio-economic development of the metropolis. Awulae Attibrukusu the lll, president of the Western Regional House of Chiefs commended the efforts of the Jubilee Partners for housing the chiefs and promised they would observe the culture maintenance for succeeding chiefs to benefit. Awulae Attibrukusu said because it was inappropriate for chiefs to be lodging in hotels, the chiefs under the past president Odeneho Gyapong Ababio, omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai area started the construction of the facility from their own resources. The project was however, halted due to financial constraints, but he consulted the Jubilee Partners and they agreed to complete it for them.
