Kan Dapaah: Adjaho Should Get Out Of My Path...

The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Albert Kan-Dapaah, has fired salvos at the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, for saying that he did not follow due process in ordering the arrest of businessman Alfred Woyome. Hon. Kan-Dapaah served notice on Thursday, he will write to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Paul Tawiah Quaye to drag businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome to appear before it. Mr. Woyome has declined on two occasions to honour the committees invitation to respond to questions about a GH51.2 million judgment debt payment to him. Hon Adjaho said the stance taken by the PAC chairman is wrong and should have reported the issue to the Speaker of Parliament first. However, Hon Kan-Dapaah insists his colleague legislator got it all wrong and should not interfere with his work. There is a process to follow and well follow, Hon. Kan-Dapaah told Accra-based Joy FM on Friday. I have no right to order the IGP to bring him [Woyome]. Mr. Doe Adjaho doesnt help himself by commenting on issues that do not concern him. If Madam Speaker decides not to invite the IGP to bring Mr. Woyome, will I be right to assume that it was because of pressure from Hon Doe Adjaho. I dont think he is helping himself and he should get out of this matter.
