VRA Relying On Light Crude Oil For Generation Of Power

The Volta River Authority is now relying on light crude oil instead of gas for generation of power to distribute to the nation. The move, though expensive, is prompted by the damage of a gas pipeline for distribution of gas to the VRA plants. The Deputy Chief Executive of Services at VRA, Maxwell Odoom, made this known at media briefing by VRA, GRIDCO and ECG, in Accra. He said for now, there are 450 thousand barrels of light crude oil worth 45 million dollars in stock to last the country for a month.
