Former First Lady, Dr. Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills is in the United States of America to receive an award to be presented posthumously to her husband, the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
The award, which is in honour of the late President as the first ever Fullbright Scholar to become President of Ghana, will be presented by the International Institute of Education (IIE) at a ceremony in New York.
A statement from Office of the President said: �the honour is in recognition of late President Mills� exemplary leadership that increased cooperation and understanding between Ghana and the world, and his resolute support for advancing education in Ghana�.
The statement said Dr. Mrs. Naadu Mills would return home on Thursday September 21, 2012.
