Volta Region will no longer be the �World Bank� for any political party in this year's election. Dr Abu Sakara made the observation after he ended his first phase of the National Whistle Stops campaign. Dr Sakara said the Convention People�s Party (CPP) does not believe in mounting big rallies and putting up huge billboards, saying those things do not win elections. He stated that his strategy of meeting the people one on one and in smaller groups is making his message well understood by the electorate. Dr Sakara has been emphasising on his vision of establishing Opportunity Industrialisation Centres (OICs) throughout the country to allow students who fail their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) the chance to continue their education in order to realise their potential in future. He has also touched on the three pillars in the CPP: social transformation, economic emancipation and equity. He was accompanied by his wife, Lily Sakara Foster; national organiser, Abu Forgor; chair for women and children�s affairs and member of the manifesto committee, Mrs Elizabeth Quarcor Akpalu; Mr Thomas Ntumy, national campaign manager; P.K. Donkor Ayifli, member, Council of Elders; Vincent Norgbedzi, Volta Regional chairman, including constituency and polling station executives. The five-day tour took Dr Sakara to several communities and villages including Ho, Kpetoe, Jasikan, Buem, Nkwanta North and South, Kejebi, Kpasa and Mafi Kumasi Dr Sakara is continuing his campaign in the Northern Region.
