Abokobi Mantse clocks 80

A special church service was on Sunday held by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Zimmerman Congregation to commemorate the 80th birthday of the Abokobi Mantse,Nii Samuel Adjetey Mohenu at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region. Dubbed the blue cross Sunday, the occasion was graced by the Chairman of the Calvary Apostolic Revival Church, Rev Ishmael Anum-Sai and members from the Dansoman District. Preaching the sermon on the theme, "Relationship between service and greatness", the District Minister, Rev George Anyetei Tsakle, urged leaders in national offices to allow Jesus Christ to lead them in all their affairs. He said the ambition of the world is to receive honour and praise but Christ teaches humanity to offer sacrificial service to better the lot of society. Rev Tsakle said those who aspire to greatness must serve others and reminded leaders that their rewards would come at God's own appointed time. He said Christ was a selfless leader who put the interest of his followers first and asked those in authority to emulate him. The Abokobi Mantse, Nii Mohenu, who celebrated the occasion with an energetic dance, thanked the church and the Abokobi township and key stakeholders who have played instrumental roles during his reign. He promised to institute an Education Endowment Fund to help the poor and needy.
