'PAC Has Not Neglected Its Duties'

The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC) has said the upcoming election is affecting its regular sitting as members are busily campaigning for re-election. The Committee has stopped its public sitting prompting criticisms from a section of the public who have accused the fact-finding body of neglecting its duties in protecting the public purse. Speaking to Citi News, the Vice Chairman of the PAC, Kwaku Agyeman Manu stated that though the election fever is affecting their work, all cases will be effectively dealt with. He explained that this is the political season and members are supposed to sit in their constituencies to do what they should do to get re-elected. So the challenge we are having now is even when we want an in-house meeting outside camera, we find it difficult to get the quorum. Mr. Agyeman Manu said So when we get back to Parliament, we believe that we will re-start our sitting within a very short time and come back and see where we can reach.
