NPP Sets Reconciliation Committee

Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea says the party has set up a committee to look into issues bordering on conflict or misunderstanding. He says the committee will look at situations where one or two persons might not be happy with results of the primaries for the 45 newly created constituencies. The NPP over the weekend organized primaries in some of the newly created constituencies. Speaking in an interview on Peace FMs morning show Kokrokoo with Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Nana Akomea said most of the Members of Parliament (MP) that lost their seats have promised to help those who won during campaigning. According to him, they have learnt a lesson from previous parliamentary primaries where some of the party members were not happy with the results and decided to go independent. For that reason, we have an arbitration and reconciliation committee and their duty is to visit the various constituencies where elections were held to ensure that they come together for the campaign, thats those who lost and won the primaries, he said. Nana Akomea also complained of how the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is going about mounting huge signboards for advertisement. According to him during the 2008 elections, NPP invested most of their money in advertising with big signboards of which the NDC complained and criticized. So I am surprised that the NDC are doing the same thing with big signboards all over the place. I am really surprisedpeople are suffering and the government of the day is rather investing in huge advertising he told Kwami Sefa-Kayi.
