I Dont Have Time For Mudslinging - Konadu

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, has said the NDP will make the needed impact in the upcoming elections if it remains focused. According to her, the NDP will not attack personalities but stick to the issues affecting the lives of Ghanaians. In an interview with the BBC, the former first lady said: We will not waste time on unnecessary mudslinging, but stick to the issues and ideas that we have decided we want to push for the NDP party. I think we will be able to make that time and we will be able to effect that change. She noted the party will get its members in the various constituencies to channel the activities of the party there to enable them make the necessary impact. Mrs. Rawlings also said both she and her husband, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings still share the same ideals though with different political parties. She explained saying, I am not going in a different direction. My husband believes in probity, accountability, transparency, empowering the people, making sure that everybody has the same opportunity as everybody else. So we are doing exactly what he believes in. It is only because the NDC that he believes in departed from these values. That is why we have set up the NDP to carry out the values and have his ideals manifested within the NDP party, she added.
