Emmanuel Frimpong Blasts FIFA Over Fresh Nationality Switch Setback

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has lashed out at FIFA after getting notice of a further delay to his bid of playing for Ghana. The 20-year-old had documents presented to FIFA to facilitate his switch in order to play for the Black Stars about a year ago returned for a signature. Frimpong is seeking clearance in time to feature for Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which kicks off early next year in South Africa. The Ghana FA on the other hand are yet to receive some piece of documentation from the Welsh and Northern Ireland FAs to confirm that the player had not appeared for them at international level as instructed by FIFA. A visibly annoyed Frimpong took to Twitter to vent his frustration after experiencing what appears to be a further red tape which is holding up his ability to make his international debut for Ghana. After over a year FIFA decide to send my document back telling me to resign my form that I signed 6months ago? the midfielder twitted. Maybe am not cut to play for Ghana because I have done everything these people want and its been over a year and still ongoing, pathetic. I wish I knew what they do down there in their offices. You would have thought they would be pleased to see a young player willing to play for his country, something aint right. Frimpong who had played for the English U-16 and U-17 teams is on the fringes of making his fill return to active first team action after recovering from a serious knee injury last term while on loan at Wolves. He is deemed by many as a vital addition to Ghanas solid midfield for the Nations Cup provided he gets the all clear from FIFA.
