Becky Akufo-Addo Shakes Sunyani

The Nana Bosoma Market in Sunyani last Wednesday turned into a rally ground when the wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Rebecca Akufo-Addo visited the market to interact with the traders. Mrs. Akufo-Addo was returning from Tamale where she had gone to witness her husband debate with three other presidential candidates on the IEA platform. At the market both women and men who have come from far and near to sell their wares welcomed her with shouts of Free Education and We want Nana Addo. Addressing the traders, Mrs. Akufo-Addo advised them to check their living conditions and cast their votes wisely. According to her, her husband had many ideas in mind to move Ghana forward to bring the development every Ghanaian was looking for. All the promise from my husband is going to take place if we all vote for him on December 7, she said. She noted that her husbands promise of free education would be his topmost priority when voted into power. She called on the market men and women to vote for Nana Addo so that their difficulty in taking care of their children would be lessened. When you vote for my husband you wouldnt need to invest all your money in your childrens education but can invest in something else because education of your children will be taken care of by the government, she added. Mrs. Akufo-Addo called on them to spread the good news to other people who have not heard about the good policies Nana Addos government would put in place when voted into power. The chants and the songs showed how attached market women were to politics these days. Mrs. Akufo-Addo took her campaign to the taxi rank and Neoplan stations in the centre of Sunyani, where she advised the drivers to be careful while driving on the road and called on them to vote for her husband. She was joined on her visit by the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of NPP, Asomah Cheremeh, the womens organizer and her assistant, former regional women organizer and other regional executives.
