Jericho Falls Tomorrow

Leading members of the Clergy in the Ashanti Region would lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, in a fervent prayer and intercession retreat at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi tomorrow Sunday. The retreat, dubbed Jericho Shall Fall, would also be attended by some of Ghanas best gospel musicians who would be performing live. The theme was picked from the book of Joshua chapter six in the Christian Bible. Former President John Agyekum Kufour, Nana Addo and the very top hierarchy of the NPP would all be attending. It is a praise and prayer festival that would be led by all renowned Bishops, Reverend Ministers and Church Leaders from across the country, especially those in the Ashanti Region. It is the second of its kind the party is holding and an occasion for the NPP campaign to seek the face of God for a peaceful election and His favour for victory in the December elections; because we believe the battle is the Lords, Lord Commey, Director of Operations for the NPP 2012 Campaign explained to DAILY GUIDE. He said the programme takes off at 2:00 p.m.; it is free of charge and open to all persons who believe in God and want to see Gods hand in the December polls. In an address with journalists in Kumasi last Wednesday, the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, F.F. Anto noted that the party had done everything humanly possible to win the coming polls, but was aware that without Gods favour they could not win the polls. He said the NPP would use the Jericho Shall Fall service to pray and thank God for His protection for the partys flagbearer and other members who had criss-crossed the country over the years, campaigning without any problems. Mr. Anto said every peace-loving Ghanaian who had the interest of the country at heart, irrespective of their party affiliations, were welcome to the church service, adding that prayers would be said to make the polls peaceful. He said as part of the spiritual programme, the NPP running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other party members would join Muslims in the region to pray for Gods favour for the party and Ghana at the Central Mosque on Saturday.
