The Ghana Football Association has presented eight (8) modern video cameras and 12 referees inter-communication gadgets to the Premier League Board. The equipment, which was presented to the Chairman of the PLB Abra Appiah by GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, is aimed at ensuring effective independent monitoring of the league as well as enhancing the performance of match officials. Kwesi Nyantakyi also reiterated the GFAs commitment to providing all the necessary support to the PLB to further raise the standard of the league. With the addition of eight new video cameras, the PLB now has 16 video cameras, meaning it will now deploy two video cameras to each league centre on match days. The communication gadgets will be used by all four match officials on match days to communicate effectively. Chairman of the PLB Abra Appiah said the equipment will significantly improve the standard of the league. The addition of eight cameras to what we already have only means that we will improve on our independent coverage of all matches, which will also enhance the work of the Match Review Panel, said Abra-Appiah. These cameras will also help us to store archival materials for the clubs and for the FA. We are also delighted by the communication equipment for the referees and it is our expectation that it will help improve on their performance.
