NPP Condemns NDC Lies, Economic Failures

The attention of the New Patriotic Party has been drawn to a radio advert being run by the ruling National Democratic Congress to the effect that the NPP, when it wins the December 2012 elections, will make the lives of Ghanaians miserable. The advert which is currently being run on some local radio stations across the country, is claiming that the NPP will increase Value Added Tax to 20%, freeze salaries of workers for 2 years and also scrap the Single Spine Salary Structure, an initiative of the NPP government under President John Agyekum Kufuor. This is complete falsehood and a sign of desperation of a government which knows it has failed Ghana and has failed Ghanaians and is on its way out of office. For its entire tenure in office, the NDC has broken every promise it made to Ghanaians, has worked for itself instead of working for you, and is now afraid of going into opposition. Among the NDC failures of the past 4 years: one-time premium for healthcare - BROKEN PROMISE reducing unemployment to the "barest minimum" - BROKEN PROMISE, 1 in 3 are looking for work, 1 in 6 have given up providing a "Better Ghana" - BROKEN PROMISE, prices of basic goods doubled, which have squeezed family budgets to the extreme The New Patriotic Party wishes to assure Ghanaians that, contrary to the lies and propaganda perpetrated by the NDC and its Presidential Candidate, that under an Akufo-Addo government, Ghanaians will finally get the relief they need from the suffering inflicted upon them by the disastrous NDC policies of the past 4 years. Voters agreeing and God willing, the next NPP government will take office with a clear programme of to transform Ghana's economy, bringing our people out of poverty and into prosperity. signed Perry Okudzeto NPP Deputy Communications Director
