Kofi Adams Sacked?

Credible information reaching The Al-Hajj indicates that the special aide and spokesperson for former President Jerry John Rawlings, Kofi Adams is on his way out of the Ridge residence of the former President. The rationale for the dismissal is still sketchy but it is believed to be the result of a standoff between Mr. Adams and his bosss wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. The standoff, reports say had been precipitated by Mr. Adams public endorsement and his unflinching support for incumbent President and the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama to the neglect of the National Democratic Party Mr Adams woes was further deepened by his wise counsel to the former President to advice his wife to call of her destructive campaign agenda against the National Democratic Congress, which he believes would go nowhere so long as the December elections is concerned. The climax for his head to roll was when he mounted the podium for the launch of the NDC parliamentary candidate for Adentan constituency, Nii Ashie Moore, which he among other things charged NDC supporters not to be swayed by any destructive tendencies by any person or group of persons. According to a deep throat source at the residency of the former first couples, the failed presidential aspirant was deeply angered by the comments by Mr. Adams and has therefore, instructed her husband to sack his spokesperson. It is believed that Mrs. Rawlings has tasked groups within the NDP to start calling for the dismissal of Mr. Adams, hence the press conference by the Central regional youth wing of the NDP calling for the head of suspended General Secretary of the ruling party. This current development vindicates the Managing Editor of The Al-Hajj, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu who urged Mr. Adams some weeks ago to do a reality check on the circumstances which led to the strain relationship between the Rawlings and their loyal servants. He cited radical un-repented supporters of Jerry Rawlings like Deputy Finance Minister, Fifi Kwetey and Eastern regional Minister, Victor Smith who was fired through a text message after many years of being submissive to the Rawlingses and prophesized that Mr. Adams days are at the residency of the former President were numbered. It would be recalled that the Eastern Regional Minister, Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith, suffered similar faith through a text message because he incurred the wrath of Nana Konadu after he was perceived to have supported the endorsement of John Mamaha as the running mate of the late President John Evans Atta Mills ahead of the 2008 elections. After that distasteful drama, Mr. Smith and Mr. Rawlings have never been seen together in public even though the former has on many occasions commented on issues concerning his former boss.
