Andre Ayew To Rejoin Marseille In Morocco After Ghana Axing

Andre Ayew will rejoin his Olympique Marseille teammates this evening at their training camp in Morocco. This follows the decision of Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah to leave the 23-year-old out of his team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. Ayew had picked up a hamstring injury while training with his club last week. The situation saw the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele miss the Saturday deadline to join the Black Stars camp in the UAE to be assessed by Ghanas medical team. Ayew again failed to meet a two-day extension to arrive in Abu Dhabi on Monday leading to the coachs decision to leave him out of the Ghana team for the Nations Cup to be hosted by South Africa. The midfielder will now rejoin his Marseille teammates who have pitched camp in Morocco ahead of the resumption of the French Ligue 1 this weekend. Ayew is expected to be out for an initial five days and will be able to play for his club once he recovers.
