Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah is considering varying his team and tactics for Thursday�s game against Mali. The Black Stars drew 2-2 with DR Congo in the opening Group B fixture of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday. Ghana threw away a comfortable 2-0 lead to ultimately share the spoils with the Leoprds at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth. The disappointing result has resurrected critics of the four-time African champions with many suggesting some players ought to be dropped in order to secure the much needed win against Mali. Coach Appiah however says he is yet to make a decision on whether to change personnel and tactics for Thursday�s game but is something he is considering his technical team. �Any tactic that you play depends on the opponent that you are meeting,� he said at Monday afternoon�s press conference at the team�s Garden Court Hotel. �You look at how your opponent plays and then you would adopt your tactical play. �Saying that, playing against Mali will depend on how we saw the game yesterday so we will sit down and plan our tactics. �As to whether we will change some players in the team or we will keep the same team and play the same tactics will depend on our technical meeting which we will have this evening.� Some members of the critical Ghanaian media have suggested defender Jerry Akaminko must not be fielded against Mali as his brash tackle cost Ghana a penalty for the DRC equalizer. Others have also suggested that Kwadwo Asamoah should be moved to his more familiar central midfield role in the Black Stars rather than waste his immense talent at left-back.
