NPP To Present An Amended Petition

Lead Counsel for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) legal team, Madam Gloria Akuffo says the NPP are going to comply with the decision of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted an application by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) seeking to join the respondents named in the NPPs petition challenging the results of the 2012 Presidential elections. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com, Madam Gloria Akuffo said the court by a majority ruled in favour of the NDC so that they will be bound by the decision of the court when the case is fully heard. We were of the opinion that the case could go on without the National Democratic Congress(NDC)...the court by a majority of 6 to 3 decided that they ought to join for the sake of justice and convenience and so that they(NDC) will be bound by the decision of the court when the case is fully heard she said. According to her, lawyers of the petitioners or respondents in the persons of Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mawumudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi Lamptey are working on an amended petition to go on with the court case. We are going to comply with the decision of the court. The Supreme Court has taken a decision and that is the end of the matter. For now, we are going to amend our petition. she told Peacefmonline.com
