Glo Deal Sunk Tinnys Image- Manager Laments

Richard Agyemang Berko, manager of hiplife artsiste, Tinny, has revealed to Flex newspaper what has contributed to the fall in his artistes image and popularity. He said, a lot of factors can be attributed to why a particular musicians standard will fall, but he could say with confidence that the main reason why Tinnys standard had fallen was due to his GLO ambassadorial deal. Although I am not supposed to go into the details of the Glo contract, I think Glos restriction on their artiste-ambassadors as to which events they can or cannot perform at, has not helped Tinny as an artiste. The fact that Tinny has not been able to perform on many platform has hurt his standard and hype. In Ghana, everyone knows that stage performance is one of the biggest potencies of Tinny, so if hes not getting to perform on big platforms because of GLO, it means his standard will fall, he lamented. He added that hes not saying he (the manager) and Tinny have no regrets getting into that contract. I will say we havent regretted signing the deal, though it is really going against us, but I am just giving you answers to the questions you are asking, Richard whispered. The contract expires in June 2013 but Richard is uncertain whether they would want to renew it or not. Rather, he said they will cross the river when they get there, but they will also be looking more into the negotiation based on condition and clauses, before they renew it. Our investigations tell us that some other musicians who signed the Glo deal have regretted doing so but the stringency and binding nature of the clauses in the contract makes it difficult for them to voice out like Tinnys manager has done. Dont forget Wutah were the first music group to complain about the payment saga with Glo and their disappointment in them. Flex Newspaper will soon publish the side of some more musicians on the Glo deal to know how it has benefited their career.
