Gambia Bird offers free tickets to Bamako

Gambia Bird Airlines offered 40 free tickets to the general public on Tuesday March 5, 2013 to mark the commencement of its maiden flight from Accra to the Malian capital Bamako. The tickets were offered on a first come first serve basis through their local agents, Expert Travel and Tours. The public, however paid for the taxes on the ticket. Non ECOWAS citizens were to have a valid passport and visa requirement. The airline says it has taken the initiative to introduce a new direct route between Accra to Bamako as part of its quest to make travel within West Africa even more feasible and convenient. �Gambia Bird is pioneering a new and improved era for travel around West Africa and the introduction of this new direct connection between Accra and Bamako delivers more compelling reasons to fly today. �This new strategic route presents opportunity to fly every Tuesdays and Thursdays easing travel between Ghana and Mali and catering better for business people, tourists, and domestic travelling,� a statement from the company said on Monday. Gambia Bird Airlines is also live on Amadeus, the Global Distribution System which is visible for booking at all travel agencies, airlines and institutions with Amadeus access. Gambia Bird Airlines also continues to offer Premium and Economy Class flights to Banjul, Dakar, Accra, Monrovia, Freetown, London-Gatwick, Barcelona, and Bamako throughout the week. Flights to Lagos and Douala will commence soon.
