Black Starlets To Camp In Egypt Ahead Of Under-17 Championship

Ghana's Under-17 team to begin training tour in the northern African country of Egypt to prepare for next month's tournament. Ghana�s Under-17 team is expected to pitch training camp in Egypt as part of preparations for the African U17 Championship in Morocco next month. The Black Starlets will fine-tune in the north Africa nation, which has comparable climatic conditions as Morocco for the eight-team Championship fixed for April 13-27. The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Seth Tekper, who revealed this during his presentation of the 2013 Budget to Parliament on Tuesday, said the Black Starlets will also travel to a yet to be named European country to wrap up their preparations before heading off to Morocco for the continental showpiece. Paa Kwesi Fabian�s side are currently in camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Excellence centre. The Black Starlets are housed in Group B and will face west African rivals Nigeria and Ivory Coast as well as Congo. The four semi-finalists from the African championship will qualify for the 2013 Under-17 World Cup which kicks off on October i17 in the United Arab Emirates.
