Presidential Candidate Hot

Information reaching Daily Guide indicates that Jacob Osei Yeboah aka JOY, the independent presidential candidate in the December 2012 presidential elections, will be arraigned before court. Mr. Osei Yeboah was arrested last week by the police for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping his business partner, Christian Kofi Marfo. The victim, who suffered severe bruises on his face and some parts of his body, is determined to press charges against the former presidential hopeful, who pleaded with the authorities to drop the case. According to the police, the complainant had failed to drop the charges against the suspect, who left them with no option than to arraign him before court. Osei Yeboah is currently facing provisional charges of assault and kidnapping after he was arrested on Thursday, March 7, 2013, by the Airport District Police Command. The complainant, who is sick, is consequently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital, according to a police source. The victims right eye, according to information gathered by ailDAILY GUIDE, was badly affected by the beatings received from JOY and his gang. When the Airport District Crime Officer, Superintendent Felix Agbenyegah Anyidoho, was contacted yesterday, he said it was the duty of the police to investigate the matter and process the culprit for court. He noted that police could not decide to drop the charges, but the onus lies on the complainant, who could either go on with the case or drop the charges against the former presidential hopeful. JOY and one Abu, his associate, would face the charges. The Airport District Police Command was called by authorities of Holiday Inn Hotel to arrest some people who were causing trouble. When the police got to the scene around 10:00pm on March 5, 2013, Mr. Osei Yeboah had already left the scene, leaving the victim, Christian Kofi Marfo, and others there. Christian Marfo accompanied the police to the station to lodge a complaint against JOY for brutally assaulting him and holding him hostage for more than seven hours. Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that Mr Osei Yeboah arrested the victim, who is also a business partner, for introducing him to a France-based businessman, who allegedly defrauded him of an amount of $375,000. Reports suggest that Mr. Marfo introduced the said French businessman to Mr. Osei Yeboah as a businessman, who is into the gold business. After realising that he had been duped, the independent presidential candidate, who might join the Mahama administration if given the chance, visited the house of the victim off the Spintex Road to arrest him. The complainant said he was arrested around 3:00pm on that fateful day at his residence by the former presidential hopeful and his men, who sent him to Multichoice area at the Airport Residential area. After some time, the suspect then took the victim to the BNI headquarters to look for one Pius, a BNI officer but was told there was nobody with that name. The victim was consequently sent to the Kawukudi branch of BNI close to 37 Military Hospital to look for the same Pius but they could not find him. The victim was finally sent to the office of JOY where he was held and severely beaten. After some hours with the victim, Mr. Osei Yeboah sent him to the Holiday Inn Hotel to meet a friend to discuss the issue for possible settlement when the misunderstanding broke out. Authorities at the hotel, who witnessed the skirmishes, immediately called the police. Upon realising that the police had been invited by the authorities, JOY quickly sat in his vehicle and drove off leaving the victim. The victim later accompanied the police to the station with his wounds and bruises to lodge a complaint against JOY. Based on the complaint, the police invited JOY to the station on March 7, 2013, and detained him behind the counter for more than two hours before granting him bail.
