Nominations have been released for the 2013 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), with several actors and filmmakers across the continent nominated in several categories. This year�s nomination was released at a party in Malawi on Friday 15th March 2012. Last year, South African movies �Otelo Burning� and �How to Steal 2 Million� and Nigerian movie �Adesuwa� garnered the most nominations for the award ceremony which was held in Lagos. However, this year, Rita Dominic & Mildren Okon�s �The Meeting� as well as Yvonne Okoro�s �The Contract� were nominated in six categories each. Actor OC Ukeje who recently won an award at the Africa Magic Viewer�s Choice Award is nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for his role in �Alan Poza� so as the late veteran, Justus Esiri for his movie, �Assasins Practice�. Yvonne Okoro and Rita Dominic were also nominated in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category. Making a surprising debut on the AMAA Nominees list is �Fimile� crooner, Karoumwi Olakunle popularly known as Kas who was nominated in the Best Promising Actor category for his role in his first movie, �The Twin Sword�.
