Police Arrest 6 More In Kumasi 'Rambo Style' Shooting

Six additional suspects in connection with the indiscriminate shooting that occurred at Ayeduase, Tech Junction and its environs on Tuesday, 19, 2013, have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command. Briefing the press on Tuesday morning, the Ashanti Regional Police commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening disclosed that though some suspects have been arrested; they still believe that some key people are behind the incident as investigations reveal that their real intent was not to steal. �However, investigations are still ongoing� he said. The suspects are Issahaku Mumuni, Aminu Sulemana alias jailman, George Baffour Awuah alais Bawal, Emmanuel Opoku Awuah alias Kadafi Abdulai Suleman and Jemima Pokuaa, a 3rd year JHS final year student. DCOP Augustine Gyening also added that 25 more suspected criminals have been rounded up in separate operations, bringing the total figure to 175. �We have however increased patrols and built tent cities at vantage points where criminal activities are frequently reported including the affordable housing project to curb the high rate of robbery and violence in the region,� DCOP added. Meanwhile, the police have seized 138 bags of wee and have arrested two suspects connected to it.
