The failed NDC parliamentary aspirant for Ablekuma North, Ras Mubarak has taken a direct swipe at a pro-NDC newspaper, 'The Herald' insisting most of their news item contain �over the bar� write ups. The Herald newspaper, a pro government newspaper in its April 3rd, 2013 publications published an explicit news item that suggested that Ras Mubarak had quit politics because the new NDC administration had offered him no post. According to the paper, �Ras Mubarak was speculated to have been earmarked for the Deputy Information and Media Relations Ministry, which now has Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nanton Constituency, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed as Deputy Minister designates.� Another portion of the article reported that Ras Mubarak had been nurturing a dream of becoming a university lecturer, and feels the time is ripe for him to return to school so as to make that dream a reality. The report also revealed that the failed parliamentary aspirant posted on his facebook wall that �he was quitting politics to provide more time for his family and also focus on academic works.� But addressing the issue directly on Okay FM�s 'Adie Akye Abia', Ras Mubarak slammed the handlers of the newspaper for generating such falsehood and maintained that he knows it is a strategy by them to find monies into their pockets. He explained that the festive seasons were over and the surest way of making quick money was for the Herald newspaper to use his name to generate controversies all in the name of making money. �The Easter season is gone, and some newspapers would do all they can to raise their sales level and am sure the Herald�s publication about me is one of those things�, he divulged. �Some journalist like speculating and you can clearly see that this piece of information is �over the bar�. Why would I quit politics when things in the NDC are going on smoothly? The party has a lot of people to occupy key positions and it is understandable. I never sent my C.V. to an elderly party member to lobby for me and I haven�t been to the president�s house to look for a job. I am focused on building my parliamentary ambitions and I wonder why I would quit politics at this moment�, he said.
